India States It Has Surpassed Key Climate Goals
India announced that it will provide its revised Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for 2035 next month. Yadav stated that India has reduced its emissions intensity by over 36% since 2005. He also noted that more than half of India’s installed electric capacity now comes from non-fossil sources and that India achieved that milestone five years ahead of its original target date, which further bolsters its credibility under the Paris framework.

Yadav called on rich countries to strengthen their climate responsibilities. India Shows Confidence in Its Climate Future
Experts at COP30 agreed that India’s strong performance puts it on a greater trajectory to evolve with global climate change and demonstrate leadership. R.R. Rashmi from TERI said India’s new NDCs would escalate ambition and promote clean energy investment at home and abroad.
The collective message from India at COP30 was quite clear: India wants more substantive cooperation, justice in climate financing, and shared technology.
