Consequently, Nitish is expected to vacate his position as Chief Minister soon. After becoming a member of the party, Nishant spoke with party workers, expressing his commitment to developing the party. “I will work to build the party”, he said, adding that he will be focused on continuing to work under the guidance of his father. Party leaders were welcoming him as well as supporters standing in front of the party’s office, waving flags.

With his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, he hopes to achieve an unprecedented political feat by being a member of both houses of the federal parliament and both houses of the state legislature; he was previously a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), an MLA, and MLC through two terms in each house. Many party leaders have expressed confidence in Nishant’s bid for the Rajya Sabha and described it as a grassroots decision by party members. As a result of this new appointment, there are renewed calls for an end to the inheritors of political families, as Kumar previously condemned the dominance of political families over their political parties.
Speculation grows over Nishant’s future role
Nishant has begun his political career, leading to speculation regarding what he may do next in the state government. Some believe that he will quickly be elevated within the administration. There are reports that he will eventually be appointed as deputy chief minister after Nitish leaves office. Currently, the ruling coalition consists of the BJP and the JD(U). Should this transition occur, the BJP will take over control of the state. This has drawn significant criticism from the opposition. Leaders from the RJD are questioning this and alleging that the ruling coalition is engaging in political manipulation. RJD leader Manoj Kumar Jha said the transition suggests political pressure on Nitish Kumar.
