Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reportedly invited by US President Donald Trump and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the upcoming Gaza Peace Summit scheduled to held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on October 13, 2025.
According to a report by The Indian Express, the invitation extended at the last minute on Saturday, October 11. However, there has been no official confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) or the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) regarding Modi’s attendance.
Gaza Peace Summit aimed at finding a diplomatic and humanitarian solution to the ongoing Israel–Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Peace Summit: A Push for Regional Stability
The Gaza Peace Summit 2025 is organized by Egypt, in collaboration with the United States, as part of a renewed international effort to end the violence in Gaza and stabilize the wider Middle East.
In a statement released by the Egyptian Presidency, Cairo said the summit’s goal was to “enhance efforts to bring peace and stability to the Middle East and usher in a new phase of regional security.”

While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not yet confirmed his attendance, the Hamas leadership has said it will not take part.
Hamas political bureau member Hossam Badran told AFP that the group “will not involved” in the Sharm el-Sheikh meeting, rejecting what it called “foreign guardianship” over Gaza.
India’s Strategic Interest and Modi’s Possible Role
If Prime Minister Modi decides to attend, it could mark his first face-to-face meeting with Donald Trump since tensions emerged between New Delhi and Washington over trade and tariff issues.
For India, Modi’s presence at the summit would carry strategic weight. India maintains strong relations with both Israel and Palestine, consistently supporting a two-state solution and humanitarian relief in conflict zones.

As of Sunday morning, neither the Indian government nor official spokespersons have confirmed Prime Minister Modi’s attendance. Diplomatic sources suggest that India’s participation could depend on the agenda and the level of representation from other major nations.
