
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a noteworthy trilateral project with Canada and Australia at the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. The new initiative will advance cooperation in artificial intelligence, clean energy, supply-chain resilience, and emerging technologies, and is known as the Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) Partnership.
Modi met with Mark Carney of Canada and Anthony Albanese of Australia shortly before announcing the trilateral initiative.
A Strategic Focus on Emerging Technologies
Modi articulated that ACITI will enhance democratic partners’ cooperation across three oceans, “on three continents.” He noted the preparatory work of building “technology, technology innovation and technology synchronization” throughout diagonal partners needs to be advanced by building secure, resilient and diversifying supply chains and noted that India is looking forward to partner with both countries in securing a sustainable and just future for the incoming generations.
Bilateral Meetings at G20 with World Leaders
Modi held a series of bilateral meetings too at G20. After meeting with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer, he characterized the discussion in terms of creating “fresh momentum” in India-UK relations. Modi also met with UN Secretary General António Guterres after that and reported their discussion was “very productive.”
Finally, Modi connected with Brazilian President Lula and repeated their “inspiration” behind their engagement and meeting together.
India Calls for Rethinking Global Development Paradigms
Inaugurating the G20 leader’s meeting, Prime Minister Modi called on all leaders to rethink the role of global development paradigms. ACITI Partnership Modi, Modi stated they must rethink and redesign growth paradigms to ensure social inclusion and sustainability. He noted that India has civilization values of Integral Humanism that could indicate pathways for the advancement of humanity as a whole.

Modi Called for Anti-Drug and Health Initiatives.
He called for anti-drug initiatives to be part of a G20 framework for the drug-terror nexus. He noted that the threat from drugs like fentanyl was also growing, saying it is part of responsibility of today’s press and governments to degrade the drug-terror economy. Modi’s Proposal of a Global Repository of Traditional Knowledge
Modi announced the proposal of a Global Repository of Traditional Knowledge (KT) to developed under the G20 framework. He stated that the KT repository would gather, protect, and share-traditional practices that are culturally appropriate and support sustainable living well-being. He noted India as having a long tradition of living holistically, respectfully, and this could help facilitate pathways for human health initiatives.
